August Bank Holiday Fun 2019 & A Little Life Update

Since I’ve started my new job…MY DREAM JOB…I have been so much happier and relaxed. I’m so happy I’ve finally got a job I enjoy and the shifts are a dream – especially in this glorious weather.

I can’t remember the last time I had a Bank Holiday off! I spent eight hours of this weekend at work and then the rest was spent planning my birthday celebrations for two weeks time!

Here’s how I spent my August Bank Holiday!

Work, work, work…

…good job I love my new job!

It’s true. I have left the garden centre after three and a half years. It’s a bit sad really, it’s where I met Josh, started my first proper job and had a whale of a time before the original team left. But times change and so do companies – the changeover to another company and management weren’t benefitting me so when the opportunity arose at Paperchase, my place of dreams, I applied, went to the group interview and only bloody got it!

I love working at Paperchase, it’s so much more relaxed. The team are great, feels like I’ve known them years honestly. I’ve only done four shifts and I know I’m going to stay there for years to come. I mean, already they are very chill with my university timetable and understand that education comes first. I’ve been wanting this for YEARS!

After work on Monday, I popped to the Tipi with some vouchers the Tipi team had popped into work…it’s a bit dangerous it only being five mins away from work! We also had a pit stop on the walk home at the Marriott hotel and sat in their outdoor area looking over York Racecourse, let me tell ya; don’t travel on race days.

Brunchin’ & Wandering…

…we were too late for the Pick Your Own Strawberries!

On Tuesday, the parents and I decided to go for brunch at The Balloon Tree Farm and Cafe. It’s a lovely little place to visit and wander, especially in the hot weather. I am planning to head back around October time with Josh for a pumpkin!

I don’t know about you but I’m ready for autumn now. I’m not a big fan of bees, wasps, seagulls stealing my food and being without air con. I have my outfits sorted for autumn and winter, every summer I struggle with clothes because I don’t really like showing my back or legs, ha!

At The Balloon Tree, you can go strawberry picking…which was what I was really looking forward to until we arrived and saw it was the end of the season for the strawbs. I was gutted! We still walked along the trail and got some good photos and it was a lovely stroll.

There’s something for everyone at this little cafe, including goats and a fun photo opportunity for all the family. We went with my grandparents, aunty and little cousin a while back and we all really enjoyed saying hi to the goats.

Isn’t everything just a tad better with the sunshine? But like I said before…bring on the cold weather!

See you tomorrow!

Lots of love
