The White Horse, York Festive Menu

On the sixteenth day of Blogmas, find out what I had for my work’s Christmas meal!

STARTER

PARSNIP, LEEK & CORIANDER SOUP WITH BRIOCHE CROUTONS

This was lush.

I don’t usually like coriander on its own but you could hardly taste it.

I’m not sure if they do this as an ordinary menu option, I would definitely order this as a main because as a starter, it was a bit too filling…but it didn’t stop me having my turkey.

I mean it is Christmas!

MAIN

TURKEY WITH ALL THE TRIMMINGS, CHESTNUT STUFFING, PIGS IN BLANKETS, SEASONAL VEG & GRAVY

Yep, I forgot to take a photo before I tucked into my pig in a blanket…oops!

This was great as well! There wasn’t a lot of food mind you, considering it was a main course.

The photo makes it looks sparse but there were two slices of turkey and a massive serving of stuffing too.

Aaaaaand I had my sprouts!

We were all really full after the starter so the main was pushing us all to be honest!

DESSERT

CALLABAUT CHOCOLATE POT

Essentially a chocolate mousse with everything chocolatey, wafers and biscuits…aka Niamh’s idea of HEAVEN.

I loved it.

Everyone loved it.

But it was a bit rich so I left quite a bit of it.

I would return here aside from a Christmas do…I’ve only been to this pub twice and both for work’s Christmas do!

Two snowmen were stood in a field.

One said, “Can you smell carrots?”

See you tomorrow my chocolate puds!
