Day in the Life of a News Editor

On the eighth day of Blogmas, I give you the inside scoop of being a radio news editor!

Oooh, well Friday was an exciting day!

I was the news editor for our weekly radio show at uni! It’s called Talk York and you can have a listen to my presenting debut from our first week here!

This week I was news editor which meant I. WAS. IN. CHARGE. Eek!

I stayed on top of schedule, I mean check out my colour coded board, and made sure everyone was happy with the content they were producing.

It was a really stressful but rewarding role to be given, but I wouldn’t be hurrying to do it again anytime soon!

The final piece we produced was FABULOUS *said in the tone of John Barrowman* and I couldn’t be prouder of my production team.

Also, a big shoutout goes to Marty who was my right hand man, helping me keep track of what everyone was working on and keeping me mentally sane throughout the day.

When we lost a piece of our show, he even went out and recorded it so we had a filler package, what an angel!

At the end of the show, we breathed a massive sigh of relief…WE DID IT!

Yep, there were a few technical issues buuuuut nothing is ever perfect, is it?

What do Santa’s little helpers learn at school?

The elf-abet!

See you tomorrow my little munchkins!
