Chatty Bits and Bobs

(Yes, I have binge-watched EVERY series of Friday Night Dinner over the past week…)

It’s been yet another week of glorious weather here in the UK, unfortunately, I have been at work for most of it – I work in a garden centre so it’s essentially a greenhouse, waaaah.

Today’s blog post is a bit of a chatty one about bits and bobs, mainly about what I plan to carry around in my bag from now on. I feel like I need to organise my bags and purse a bit better – there’s always a massive cluster of receipts and rubbish stuffed somewhere!

I recently bought this ASOS DESIGN bag in rose gold as I felt it would be really practical to use every day – for fun days or for university too! My sunnies are also from ASOS, they came in a two pack – pink and black, two colours which match anything!

WHAT A SURPRISE! NIAMH HAS THE BODY SHOP PRODUCTS IN HER BAG? It’s beyond an obsession now…I’m not planning on stopping anytime soon either – family and friends be warned!

Usually, I wouldn’t carry around hand cream or body mist around with me but because it’s coming up to summer – hands get sticky from ice creams and the sun…well you know, it’s nice to smell good!

You may recognize the pad and pens from my Instagram and previous posts! As I am an up and coming journalist…aka I’m doing a journalism degree, I have been advised to carry around a pen and pad with me at all times in case I come across a story I want to cover. It’s also useful for jotting things down so you don’t forget things!

My goal at the start of this year was to start reading a bit more, and for the first few months of this year I did but then university deadlines came about and I didn’t have much time to chill out with a book – but now I’ve completed my first year I can concentrate more on my blog and discovering new books!

When I first got my Kindle, I downloaded the book of Thirteen Reasons Why and read it within a day and it is SO much better than the series – personally, I don’t think there should have been a second season on Netflix, it’s just taking it a bit too far for me.

After 13RW, I read the original book of Love, Simon. It was a beautiful book and really well written and the plot twist at the end was unexpected! (Duh Niamh…) I discovered Love to Hate You by Jo Watson and absolutely fell about laughing and at some points wanting to shed a tear because of the journey the characters went through…but I am a sucker for a rom com!

As always, I am the fashionably late person to jump on the bandwagon but I am going to join in on the Slow Sunday Club book club festivities! If you sign up, every Sunday you will receive a beautiful email from one of my faves Allie aka Rush and Teal and her sis Sophie, talking about what interested them through the week including helpful blog posts and instagram posts too!

If you follow me on twitter, you’ll know I asked for advice on what to take on my trip to Amsterdam, but we all know I will just pack my beauty drawer AND THEN SOME! As you can see from the above photo – I plan to wear these green striped trousers and just a plain black cami both from New Look! I’m going to wear my comfy sandals…also from New Look!

I’ve started to take photos on my Canon 700D as it’s a bit better quality for blogs and the gram – it also feel a bit more professional than using my phone. I will still use my phone while in the Dam to take a lot of blogger-esque photos…I have already pre warned the parents!

I received my first Blogosphere magazine on Saturday and I was so happy to see my favourite Laurzrah as the beauty editor for the issue! Oh, as I was literally typing that Laurzrah just tweeted that her new revamped site is up and live! Check it out! It’s so pretty!

Also this morning I received some Cetaphil samples in the post – go over to my Instagram stories to watch my first impressions!

*SIDE NOTE: Don’t forget to support and follow little bloggers, like myself, it just gives a boost of confidence!*

They go great with a white slogan tee I’ve found! They are really lightweight as well! Oh god, if I buy any more from the Pink Grapefruit range – I will actually turn into one! X
