ASOS DESIGN MAKE UP REVIEW

Hello and welcome to a new blog series I am starting!

*I’ve decided to stop using the filtered photos in my blogs as it doesn’t show the true nature of products!*

I decided to test out popular high street/internet brands own makeup ranges to see if the products are worth the money and if they look good too – I’ve seen multiple bloggers and vloggers try this ‘tag’ out so I wanted to give it a go for myself!

*I AM NOT SPONSORED BY ANY OF THE BRANDS FEATURED IN THIS BLOG, JUST A FAN!*

HERE WE GO…!

This blog’s brand is ASOS. ASOS have called their makeup range ‘ASOS DESIGN’ and it has some funky pink packaging.

HOW GOOD DOES THE PORTRAIT MODE ON THE iPHONE CAMERA LOOK?!

The total cost for the five products was £42 – which isn’t that bad considering one eyeshadow palette can cost more than that from luxury brands and you are getting a full face of makeup bar a couple of products.

While testing these products (as you’ll see in the final look pics), I used my Smashbox foundation sample and WOW! I love it!

EYESHADOW PALETTE – DEVOTED

NUDE. NUDE. NUDE.

ASOS have four eye palettes, but the DEVOTED palette really attracted me as I thought it would suit me better than the others.

I was really impressed with this nude coloured palette –  I think it really complicated my eye colour. I will definitely be using these colours throughout summer. However, I think it was overpriced for the size and the amount of shadow you actually get.

This product was the most expensive out of the five – £12. I think if it was £8, it would be a more suited price BUT the pigment was very good and you can create many looks with the featured colours.

EYELINER PENCIL – PUSHY

FullSizeRender-1

ONE WORD: OUCH.

I was really disappointed with this eyeliner pencil, it really hurt to draw on my eyelid and when it actually worked – it looked rubbish. I teamed it with the Rimmel London Wonderwing pen.

The eyeliner cost £5 – the cheapest out of the five. To be honest, I don’t recommend this product as it was a NIGHTMARE to take off, eugH, and it didn’t do the job properly. I managed to get some use out of it on my bottom lash line to smudge but that’s about it.

MASCARA – BOSSY

LOOK AT THAT BRUSH! WHAT A BEAUTY.

WOW.

I was not expecting the mascara to be as good as it was – it smelt lovely as well. The tube was really chunky as well so I’m expecting this to last a long time, well worth the £8.

It seems this product doesn’t need to dry out after the first use as it separated my lashes and made them look AMAZING – I will DEFINITELY be using this mascara a lot, it didn’t feel heavy on my lashes either as some mascaras can feel like they are weighing your lashes down!

BLUSHER – ACCEPTANCE

BEAUT COLOUR BUT NOT WHAT I WAS EXPECTING.

I ordered the blusher in the shade ‘Acceptance‘ as online it looked like a dupe for Benefit’s GALifornia, unfortunately, that wasn’t true but the colour is still lovely!

It gives a berry glow to your cheeks and it’s perfect for spring and summer. At £8 it’s a bargain and hopefully, it will last a while as well!

HIGHLIGHTER – TENACIOUS

This highlighter is the highlighter of DREAMS. It’s so glowy! I got the shade ‘Tenacious‘ and it looks really good – perfect for a subtle glow.

The stick is really chubby and there is lots of product but again, it may be a little overpriced at £9. Regardless, I will be using this all summer!

THE FINAL LOOK

*My freckles have made an appearance!*

As you can see, my eyeliner skills are atrocious but I’m working on it!

Yes, that is The Wanted on my hoodie. 2010 Niamh is still with us.

I think teamed with my Radiance Glow block from my previous blog, this look will be an amazing summer evening look!

Have a listen to my summer playlist on Spotify for the perfect get ready tunes!

I never even knew ASOS had a makeup range, I feel like they are a little over priced as you said. But the packaging is just adorable! I might need to try that mascara then because I have been looking for a good one for a while now, hopefully, this will be it!xo

It is a really good mascara! It’s nearly a dupe of Benefit’s They’re Real! X
